Juvenile Law

Unless a juvenile has been charged as an adult for a serious crime, the Juvenile Court handles cases involving youths who are under age 18 and charged with a serious crime. The court has jurisdiction even if the youth turns 18 before the case is adjudicated, and jurisdiction continues until the age of 21.

Juvenile crime may include, but is not limited to, vandalism, arson, burglary, theft, sexual abuse, rape, breaking and entering, drug abuse, possession of controlled substances and physical abuse. Other areas include Juvenile citations, petitions of delinquency and intake meetings with Department of Juvenile Services

Juvenile court  is treated differently than adult court; the terms are different and care must be taken when relating to the kids that may be involved. Jan O'Connor has the skills needed to affectively represent a child in need of legal support should the need ever arise.
